Victorian Stoneware Water Filter
Fabulous Victorian stoneware water filter. The container would be filled with charcoal, and water poured into the top of the container. As the water passed through the charcoal it was cleansed. The clean water was drawn from the bottom of the container through a tap, sadly missing.
Inscription in relief "G. Cheavins. Improved patent Gold Medal Self cleaning rapid water filter Boston England", obviously a fine example of this type of filters.

With lovely lion mask handles and fantastic condition, this is a very decorative item which could be put through new uses in the home or even garden.
