Georgian period oak dresser with Delft rack

A superb large piece of Period Oak, with hand-cut mouldings and boards, this dresser consists in a matching rack and base. The beautifully proportioned rack has a scalloped canopy frieze adorned with original iron hooks and is fitted with three open grooved plate shelves made from marvellous heavy hand-cut planks. The base with reeded edges above three lipped frieze drawers stands on four front “gun barrel” turned columns and square rear supports leading down to the pot shelf surmounting bracket feet.

With its rich deep colour, mature patina and original brass fittings, this dresser is a stunning example of Eighteenth Century country oak. There are some historical repairs commensurable with the age of this dresser and it has been recently inspected and waxed. Overall, this dresser is in stunning condition and a glowing testament to the skills of English country craftsmen of bygone times. With its rustic feel, this dresser would fit in cosy contemporary interiors just as well as in a country house setting. As well as being a fantastic investment, this dresser is a very practical piece of furniture.
